Their latest single ‘Sublimate pt. II’ is a melancholic anthem wrapped in sugary, ecstatic, pop gloss, which sees the band explore new relationships of separation, belonging and the claustrophobia of freedom ‘faces drenched in blue light’ ‘cosy in the covers, backs to each other'. With its heavy synth bass, ecstatic midi choir backing and buoyant saxophone lines, the song takes on the effect of cathartic release as it ponders the unchallenged life ‘never dream for more than boredom, now defines us’.
